The Mall Cop
Official Overreaction
“Trained for exactly half of this.”
Voice Lines on Record
- “Sir, this is a food court.”
- “I am trained for exactly half of this.”
- “Code Sock! I repeat, Code Sock!”
The Mall Cop is the pursuer. Polished badge, clean radio, full uniform, and an unshakable conviction that this lower-leg situation is, in fact, a national-level concern. The Mall Cop is not unkind. The Mall Cop is overprepared. The Mall Cop arrived at work this morning believing today might finally be the day, and today is the day. Patrol routes through the food court are walked with the bearing of someone defending a state border. Whistles are blown with purpose, even when aimed at the wrong person. Radio chatter is constant. Confidence is high. Outcomes are mixed. The food court appreciates the effort regardless.
In-game, The Mall Cop is the primary anti-Biter pressure: blowing whistles (Small), chasing with a flashlight while radioing nonsense (Medium), and triggering a brief mall-wide "Code Sock" lockdown (Large, stretch). Catching a Biter applies a scoring penalty or brief slowdown. Reaction tier transitions are server-authoritative and driven by nearby bite events. The Mall Cop is not faster than a Biter on a clean line, but the Mall Cop is patient, persistent, and emboldened by the radio. Players quickly learn that the most dangerous Mall Cop is the one who has been ignored for thirty seconds and is about to do something decisive.
